For the second time in 2015 a major terrorist attack has rocked the capital of France.
A series of seemingly coordinated terror attacks, led by at least 8 people, seven of whom were reportedly wearing suicide vests, swept the French capital of Paris last night leaving 128 dead and at least 100 injured. A statement from ISIS says it is taking responsibility for the attacks.
Scores of people were slain in the Bataclan concert hall and numerous people were gunned down in restaurants in and around locations close to the concert hall.
Reports are also suggesting that people were killed in explosions near Stade de France in the north of Paris.
President Hollande blamed Islamic State (he calls them Daesh) for the attack, said,
“It is an act of war that was committed by a terrorist army, a jihadist army, Daesh, against France.
“It is an act of war that was prepared, organized and planned from abroad, with complicity from the inside, which the investigation will help establish.”
An official statement from Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks just before 11AM GMT.
The statement read,
“Eight brothers carrying explosive belts and guns targeted areas in the heart of the French capital that were specifically chosen in advance: the Stade de France during a match against Germany which that imbecile François Hollande was attending; the Bataclan where hundreds of idolaters were together in a party of perversity as well as other targets in the 10th, 11th and 18th arrondissement.”
The statement went on to blame insults directed at the prophet Muhammad and airstrikes led by France on IS territories.
