Tim Healy who plays the cross dresser Lesley in the hit ITV comedy Benidorm has been airlifted to hospital.
Benidorm‘s Tim Healy has been airlifted to a hospital in Manchester after becoming seriously ill in Spain. It believed that Mr Healy had been living in a Spanish clinic, before being moved the UK, after he fell ill during filming the latest series of Benidorm.
The 64-year-old star, who has appeared in Benidorm since 2010 has been left “fighting for his life” after a “mystery illness” meant that he was transferred to a hospital in Manchester from Spain.
His illness was so severe that he had to withdraw from completing his filming commitments in Benidorm.
A source told The Metro that his condition had improved and that doctors were keeping a “constant eye on him.”
He needed surgery for a condition called intermittent claudication, an illness which causes cramping due to blocked arteries.
He had surgery to remove blocked arteries in his legs in 2010.
