They say 13 is an unlucky number – and for some of the contestants of this year’s Celebrity Big Brother, it will be.
As always the mix of the ‘stars’ was varied if not a little underwhelming. From soap stars to Simon Cowell’s ‘ex-girlfriend’ to our very own favourite Mr Julian Clary. And of course, there was a page 3 girl in there for good measure.
When she entered the house, Julie explained:
“Wow, this is cool! Incredible.”
She was followed by ex Eastenders actor Cheryl – who played Heather Trott. She vowed on entering the house that she was not going to take any nonsense from her fellow contestants.
She told host Brian Dowling: ‘
I’ve got a few things up my sleeve. I’ve got a few choice words if they do f**k me off a bit.’
As the pair started to make themselves a little more familiar with their surroundings they were summoned into the diary room for their first secret task. They were told to become formidable drama queens’ and turn the show into a “soap opera” for the next 90 minutes. They were given earpieces and told they would be given instructions. If they were successful in the task the house would be ‘rewarded’.
Then there was So Solid Crew star Mc Harvey (snore), Simon Cowell’s alleged ex Jasmine Lennard (snore), Spandau Ballet and Eastender’s Martin Kemp (slightly better), Olympian competitor McKenzie (topical), Colleen Nolan (loose), Dancia Thrall (who and who cares?), Bachelor star Prince Lorenso (who? and really who cares?), Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino (I’m losing the will), Samantha Brick (beautiful, beautiful woman) and Rhian Sugden (can’t be bothered to even….)
The party didn’t get started however until Julian Clary was announced – to arousing applause. Clary became an instant trending topic on social media network Twitter, with many fans tweeting their excitement about Clary’s involvement.
