Out and proud gay singer Sam Smith has choosen this week’s song for Andrea Faustini.
This week for X FACTOR One Direction, Sam Smith, Emeli Sande, Little Mix And Tulisa hand-picked the songs for the remaining contestants on X FACTOR.
Taking to twitter Andrea said,
‘Thank you so much @samsmithworld for choosing Chandelier! I LOVE IT and will try my hardest to do it justice! And thank you for Hero #yeah’
Sam Smith came out in an interview with The Fader magazine in May 2014, prior the release of his debut album, In The Lonely Hour, saying,
‘In the Lonely Hour is about a guy that I fell in love with last year, and he didn’t love me back. I think I’m over it now, but I was in a very dark place… I told him about it recently, and obviously it was never going to go the way I wanted it to go, because he doesn’t love me. But it was good as a form of closure, to get it off my chest and tell him.
‘I feel better for it. I feel almost like I signed off this part of my life where I keep giving myself to guys who are never going to love me back. It feels good to have interviews like this, to chat about it and put stuff to bed. It’s all there now, and I can move on and hopefully find a guy who can love me the way I love him.’

Last week, Andrea Faustini, who has been bookies’ favourite to win, shockingly found himself in the bottom two against joke act Stevi Richie, proving that no one is safe in the competition.
Speaking about why Sam choice of Sia’s hit Chandelier he said, ‘I worked with Sia about six months ago and I remember being in the booth with her and her voice is just ridiculous, and when I heard Andrea’s voice for the first time I remember feeling that same kind of reaction. The song is so difficult to sing but I genuinely from my heart think Andrea can do this. This is a huge, huge challenge and I think you’ve got to challenge yourself. Everyone I know loves that song, and everyone I know loves Andrea.’
X Factor continues tonight at 8:00PM on ITV1
