How The Community Works

If you’re new around here and are wondering how to use this site here’s what we’re all about…

What is the Newsfeed?

How do I find members?

What are groups?

What are the rules?

Changing my email notifications

Newsfeed.

When you log in you’ll be directed to the newsfeed. Here’s where you can update your followers and friends on what you’re doing. Or you can get involved with a discussion that’s happening right now on the feed. You can embed links, Tweets and other messages. Think of it as something similar to Twitter’s newsfeed.

Finding someone specific.

If you’re looking for someone specific then head on over to the member list. Here’s where you’ll be able to view the thousands of profiles. If you like someone you see why not drop them a message or send them a friend request.

Groups.

We want to create meaningful connections between people who use this site. One of the ways to do this is to connect you through community groups. We’ve created some already, but if you don’t see anything you like then why not create one yourself. If someone else digs what you’re doing, hopefully, they’ll join too!

Plus you can always invite new people to come and check out your group.

Community rules

We don’t want to bombard you with loads of rules, but to keep everyone safe and legal here’s a couple of rules.

  1. Do not post illegal content. Anything reported to us as suspect will be removed and reported to the appropriate authorities.
  2. No hate speech. Make sure that everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn’t allowed, and degrading comments about things such as race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.
  3. Respect people’s privacy. Being part of this network requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What’s shared in the group should stay on the network.
  4. You must be over 18 to use this network. Whilst we’re totally supportive of young people and their journeys due to the themes that might run in this group, anyone under the age of 18 is not permitted and will be removed.

Changing emails and notifications

We understand that getting too many emails is annoying that’s why you are in full control of what we send you. To unsubscribe from our newsletters or social network notification click on the “manage your preferences” link in any of the emails that we’ve sent you. You will be able to get access to all the notifications we currently send you. You can disable them all easily and quickly with one click!
