Geordie beauty Cheryl could be facing the almighty X FACTOR axe, alongside many of her co-stars after the bookies slashed the odds of her retaining her place in the judging panel to 1/3 from 1/5.

Already 2016’s series of X Factor, due to start in August, is going to look completely different from last year’s with the departures of Olly Murs, Caroline Flack and Nick Grimshaw.

Last year’s X Factor ratings were the worst on record for the show and the competition’s winner had the most unsuccessful winner’s single in the history of the show.

In 2014 a readers’ survey from Heat Magazine revealed that nearly 60 per cent of the show’s fans had tired of Cheryl and thought that she should leave.

One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson is looking more and more certain to replace the departing Nick Grimshaw.

Nick Grimshaw cited work commitments for the reason of his departure from the ITV flagship show saying,

“I was doing the [BBC Radio 1] show in the morning and then working on X Factor from midday to midnight. It was every day. I will miss X Factor but I don’t regret my decision to go.”

However bookies have put odds of 20/1 that Simon Cowell will return to the original line of judges which included Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Simon himself.

William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said,

“Cheryl seems to be getting a hard time over her latest relationship.  It may just be simpler for Simon to return to the original Triumvirate”
