Scotland’s resident LGBTI radio station Xpress Radio Scotland, has launched a new football show ’90 minutes’, hosted by avid fans of the sport, Iain Sharkey and David Sinclair.
The show is to prove a landmark for the LGBTI movement in the United Kingdom, being the first of its kind in existence for an LGBTI radio station.
Sinclair commented:
“I have previously worked for a football club for a number of years and Sharkey plays for Saltire Thistle, who are currently champions of the Gay Football Supporters Network (GFSN) Division 1.”
He says that the show “gives the community a platform to get involved and interested in sports, particularly football. With that then I hope people will get involved in GFSN clubs as a player or supporter.”
Sharkey, with knowledge of the lower leagues and Sinclair with knowledge of the premierships and Europe will be taking to the radio waves to cover all the latest news in the footie world. As well as this, listeners can expect various games to take place throughout the show.
