Russell Tovey is apparently joining the cast of a National Theatre production of Angels In America.
Russell Tovey will apparently be joining Andrew Garfield and Denise Gough in a new production of the heartbreaking series Angels In America at the National Theatre in London. This will be the second time that the play has been at the National Theatre.
It originally premiered at the National Theatre’s Cottesloe Theatre in January 1992.
The Daily Mail’s Baz Bamigboye reports that the show is due to play at the Lyttelton Theatre next year. Gough will take the role of Harper Pitt, while Tovey will play Joe Pitt.
Garfield is set as Prior Walter.

The play was first staged as a workshop performance in 1990 performed in Los Angeles. The two-part play has won numerous awards for its complex, often metaphorical  examination of the AIDS crisis and homosexuality in America in the 1980s.
